Weekend update - it was fairly eventful. The DO M.E. Pubcrawl, Friday night. Julien, sporting the top ten reasons to be in M.E. The chaos begins. (Lex, Mel, Nigel, Michel, and Jon) Vince and Kathleen are obviously still warming up. (Background: Steve and Tim) Eddie providing commentary on the attack of the innocent Kathleen and Alexa. And we danced the night away. (Mel, Lex, John, Kathleen, and Steve's nose.) Luckily it was one of those insane nights where you wake up the next day feeling even better than you did the day before. Even still, Saturday night I took it easy and watched Crash at Kev's place. Today I bought new kicks.

Damn you Jeff! Yet I'm doing it anyway, but I'm reducing the lists to three.
Three Jobs You've Had In Your Life: 1. Syncrude - Sucking money out of the ground 101. My one and only engineering job held more opportunities than I ever could have imagined.
2. Bartending - I swore I would never do it, then I turned 19. The entertainment was almost worth it.
3. Teaching sailing has been my stand-by job. I did it for so long I didn't think anyone else would want to hire me. There's nothing like spending the day relaxing on the water, the only drawback is the lack of cash flow.
Three Movies you Could Watch Over and Over Again: 1.Wind (I think I've watched it enough times to make any sane person crazy.) 2.Center Stage (I don't care if their acting sucks, it's worth it for the dance.) 3.Closer (Forget fairytales.)
Three Places You've Lived: 1. Langley Road - Even though I'm too young to really remember, it's a place that sticks in my mind. When I look at the old pictures, sometimes I wish I could go back.
2. Crummy Lodge - Considering I spent almost twenty years of my life here I think it's worth a mention. It was such a great spot, but had far too much space for Mom to create clutter. Many attended tea parties, potlucks, or study nights here over the years.
3. Fort Smack (Fort McMurray, AB) - Hello Boomtown! It has all those Boomtown characteristics, yet people actually live there - permanently. As much as some people hate it, I really had a good time. It's definitely worth the experience.
Three TV Shows You Love to Watch: 1. The OC 2. The L Word 3. CSI
Three Places You've Been On Vacation: 1. Jasper/Banff 2. Montreal 3. Toronto
Three Blogs You Visit Daily: 1. Princesa 2. Kierpaso 3. Sam
Three of Your Favorite Foods: 1. Grammy-Jo's mac and cheese 2. Pat's Rose and Grey breadsticks 3. Grandmother's carrot cake
Three Places You'd Rather Be: 1. Ottawa (I miss you Miss) 2. Oz (I'd rather be sailing) 3. The mountains, any mountains, skiing and hiking and camping.
Three Vehicles You've Owned: ve·hi·cle: n. A device or structure for transporting persons or things 1. My bike. That golden beauty is the only thing I have bought myself that gets me from point A to point B.
2. The sky blue Honda scooter. Dad bought it for me as a surprise and I said, "Why didn't you buy me a boat?" I never drove it - perhaps out of spite.
3. Bessie, my (read Mom's) '89 Volkswagen Fox. She became mine when Mom got Reba, although I never officially owned the car. That girl was like a tractor. She was always there for me when I needed her. On the coldest, snowyest days, when no one else would drive Bessie would start right up and make it where ever I needed to go.
"I'm going to add a new category" -Jeff "Good choice!" -Lex "You're a nerd" -The rest of the world Three favorite books: 1. Swallows and Amazons - Arthur Ransom (My absolute favorite novels as a kid, about - you guessed it - sailing.) 2. In the Skin of a Lion - Micheal Ondaatje (Entertaining historical fiction.) 3. The Undomestic Godess - Sophia Kinsella (Light and fluffy, read it between books on your reading list.)
Three People to Be Tagged: 1. Ang 2. B 3. Kierpaso

What a great night. The snow was fast and clean, and my skis were running beautifully in nice smooth s-turns, until *THWAP!* After a jolting blow, I flew into the air, wrenching my knee as my boots pulled out of my skis, losing my poles, and tumbling in a cloud of white fluff. Some tall, lanky foreign man in an impressive purple ski suit had just run me over. Although I had been skiing in a nice, slow, predictable manner he manage to run over the back of my skis at break-neck-speed. Aside from a very tender right knee I have recovered from the shocking event. Time to go fill my hot water bottle and rest.

Wow, I just now realised that in Time Running Tegan sings "my sad thoughts float" while all this time I thought she sang "my sandbox floats". I always thought that was a little odd. It's amazing what you hear when everything else is silent.

Though not quite as extreme, I now have that same uncomfortable feeling that I did after the last US election.

Stupid Sundays. I never seem to have accomplished a pleasing enough amount to go to bed at a reasonable hour on Sundays. This is more due to my incredible ability to waste time than anything else. Earlier this week Noel and I were discussing how we missed the fun we had last year. Then on Tuesday I went to kareokee; odd coincidence in my opinion. Last night I was supposed to go out with some people, but never heard from them. I thought I looked too good to stay home by myself, so I went to the Cellar and found some of my other friends -- it's very unlike me to be able to convince myself to go out alone. I also had my usual couple of ballet classes this week, before and after which I tend to waste even more time. Plus I went to two almost three hour movies this week. I highly recommend Munich. I just get so distracted when I'm home that I feel useless. I feel like getting out and doing something is at least less of a waste of time.

I haven't eaten much in the past day or so; so after three pints tonight, I appear to be slightly intoxicated. I tried to pour myself I glass of water, but ended up with one wet leg. I'm also feeling slightly alone, (translation: in need of company.)

Loving the dance. I think I'm improving a little bit. Unfortunately it's my core strength that's lacking and I haven't worked up the ambition to do something about it. I wore my new leg warmers for the first time today, but they're a little loose for dance, so I'm sticking to wearing them casually. Excuse the out of focus camera, I was lazy.
Went out for Vince's B-day tonight and had a great time with a totally random group of people that I don't know at all.

This is a comforting sight I haven't seen in awhile. Wednesday night I went skiing at Crabbe with some other mechies and people from the house.

Two very important, very grown-up events in my life have recently taken place. Or at least they're very important and very grown-up in my opinion. - 1. I got contacts!
- 2. I bought a ticket to Paris!
I fly out of Charlottetown on April 25th (the day after exams finish), arriving early the morning of the 26th, and leave Paris May 16th (the day before graduation) to return home. I'm going to do some travelling around Europe, part of the time with Ang and Joe, and part of the time with I don't know. Unfortunately right now I need to focus on work. As for the contacts - they're the best thing ever! Sure it takes about a whole minute longer to put in/take out my contacts, than it does to put on/take off my glasses, but I can see everything, not just what's directly in front of me!

I hate how the first class after the holidays is always such a wake up call. I just came from ballet, and every part of my body aches; my positioning was all wrong, and my muscles were all stiff. I don't want to do work, I want to take a nice warm bubble bath.
Wednesday, January 04, 2006 9:20 PM
What a break. I feel totally spoiled. I got to do such a multitude of wonderful, relaxing things that I miss: - Lunch with Linda
- TV night with Ang and Ryan
- Visit with Grandmother
- Scrabble night with Mom
- Lunch with Cory
- NYE at Mur's
- Brunch at the Delta
...and so many other relaxing favorites. I feel like it's been so long since I've gotten to do any of those things. I ended up a litte stressed at the end, needing to get packed and go, but that turned out okay too. It really felt like a true holiday. It was nice not having to be ten places at once.
